Our weekly online choirs are for everyone who loves singing, wherever they are located. These are live, one-hour sing-along sessions led by Graeme Hopson on the piano, with a selection of favourite songs from across the decades. There’s no need to read music as the songs are taught by ear, with the words emailed to you in advance.
The online experience
Our online choirs are a great opportunity to sing with other people if you are unable to make it to choir rehearsals. It’s a chance to de-stress, lift your spirits, meet new people, or sing with friends and family regardless of geographical location.
You will see and hear Graeme singing and playing the piano for you to sing along to, though due to delays with the sound, you won’t hear everyone else singing at the same time. The advantage of this is that you are free to sing your heart out and not worry about making a mistake or not having the best voice! You can see the other choir members’ faces and their reactions and there’s time at the beginning of each session to say hi and have a quick chat.
What you need
- A device that connects to the internet – PC, laptop, tablet, or smart phone
- An internet/WiFi connection
- A built-in or external webcam and microphone
